Job Description
To support an independent lady with visual impairment, living in her own home in the Preston area. The service user will be your employer and you will support her to maintain and facilitate her independence.
Duties Include:
? To support service user to access social activities
? To support service user to carry out domestic tasks around her home
? To support the service user to keep garden clear and tidy
? To support service user with shopping
? To support service in kitchen, preparing and cooking food, handling large pans, etc
? To support the service user with paperwork, reading and filing post, completing forms etc
? To advise the service user on clothes and make-up
? To transport the service user on short trips.
This list is not exhaustive and may change according to the service user’s needs.
Person Specification:
? You must have excellent descriptive communication skills
? You must be able to describe what you see in detail where necessary
? You must be able to facilitate and enhance the service user’s independence
? You must have a positive, supportive mindset
? You must not ‘care’ for the service user, simply support her with required tasks
? You must provide information to her to allow her to make her own choices
? A good sense of humour is preferred
? You should have a bubbly, friendly personality
? You must like and have kept dogs
? A car owner/driver would be preferred
You will be paid £8.30 per hour for up to 14 hours each week. These hours are to be worked flexibly.
You will be paid every four weeks and always by cheque. You will be entitled to 5.6 weeks paid leave each year.

Hi my name is Nicola I live in Chorley, I experience of supporting a lady in Preston also, we would go for a coffee and a chat, or look around the shops, or go shopping or to the doctors, where ever or what ever the lady wished to do. I currently volunteer for the police, by signing for a gentleman there, I also volunteer at a nursery once a week for a boy who is autistic, I also, work in the afternoons for a primary school. This I wish to change, as it is no longer of benefit to me.

I currently work in a home with five people with learning disabilities .
I have been a hairdresser all my life and at 40 decided to change direction and use my warm bubbly personality to reward others.
Im looking to support someone on a one to one basis , someone who's needs would fit my capability and establish a good connection .
I love animals , have always had cats and have previously had a dog.
I own my own car and although i live in morecambe the distance isn't a problem .
I'm a very caring, loyal individual and would love to be considered for this post .
