Become a Volunteer!

Do you want to volunteer somewhere? It is a chance to learn new skills, meet new people, share experiences, attend events and social activities.

Full training and personal development is provided as well.

There are opportunities to work within the LCIL office, join Peer Support, learn to become a Circles of Support Facilitator, attend conferences and workshops, training sessions for social work teams and take part in sport and leisure activities as part of the peer support network.

Personalise It; free training for disabled people, LCIL volunteers, Community Pathway volunteers and non disabled people who are looking to increase their skills in disability issues and personalisation.

From January 2012 we are offering a free training course on Personalisation which includes a number of modules (sessions). These will be 'social model of disability', 'listening skills', 'working with people skills', 'peer support', 'person centred planning', 'direct payments', 'support planning' and 'Circles of Support facilitation'. We are hoping that each learner will do at least 6 sessions/modules.

You will receive one to one support and will have your own learners support plan. The tutors will be drawn from a group of professionals and volunteers; disabled and non-disabled people and will be offered in venues around Lancashire.
